SAVE VTA TRANSIT - 4/16/21 VTA Budget Workshop @ 10:30am

On Friday April 16th at 10:30am, the VTA Board will hold a workshop to discuss how the budget for the next two years. This will determine what’s funded and how much transit service we will have until July 2023. VTA has reduced service to 80%, and over 1000 riders are being left behind every day because of social distancing requirements. With schools and businesses opening soon, we need to get transit service back up to meet the demand. Join us and urge the VTA board to include enough funding to run 100% of transit service ASAP in the budget!

What to include in your public comment during item # 3.1:

• Your name, where you live, and what organizations you are part of. 

• Why transit is important to you. Do you ride transit? Have you been impacted by pass-ups? Do your friends, family, or community ride transit? Do you care about the positive impact that transit has on the climate or traffic or housing?

• Something along the lines of “I urge you prioritize the restoration of transit service ASAP and allocate enough funds to restore transit service ASAP in the upcoming budget.”
