Save VTA Public Comments - December 3rd VTA Governance & Audit Committee @ 4pm

On December 3rd, the VTA Governance & Audit Committee will be voting on a policy which would limit general public comments to 20 minutes. General public comments have been an important tool for us and we believe that they should continue to be unlimited especially since VTA will be voting on severe cuts next year. Our name "Turnout4Transit" comes from the idea that change is created when members of the community show up and make their voices heard. Please join us and speak out against changes to the public comment policy!

What to include in your public comment during item #9:

  • Your name, where you live, and what organizations you are part of.

  • Why public comments are important to you. Do you ride transit and want to share your thoughts with the board? Do you think it’s wrong for public comments to be limited before the board votes on cuts next year?

  • Something along the lines of “I urge you vote against the proposed changes to the public comment guidelines.”
